Family Fun...

My brother Bryce and his family came out the end of July. It was so much fun to have us all together, it has been 3 years. Since they were on vacation we pretty much played the whole time they were here. Here is the week in review:Saturday:We were planning to hike up Timp cave...but the wait was too long. Instead we went hiking around cascade springs and met the rest of the family at Sundance for a picnic. We learned that if you let the boys lead the hike...you just might find yourself going now where in particular.

Sunday: Bryce did a fireside for the youth in my mom's ward. He is in the military in special operations. He doesn't often tell us much about his job so it was really neat hearing him talk about some of the experiences he has had. How GRATEFUL I am for his sacrifice. Brandi is amazing putting up with such a crazy work schedule and scary situations. It is so nice to know that there are good men fighting for our freedoms and protecting us.
Monday:
We went to the bees game and the family fun day they had at the stadium. I had fun racing Travis on the bungee thing, he put up a good fight. I think all the kids had a good time and it was fun just being with family. Good food, good company...what more can you ask for.

Tuesday: We kinda did our own thing on Tuesday. Bryce and Brandi and the kids went up to Park City and went to the mountain resort. My mom and I went with them to lunch and then went shopping at the outlets.

Wednesday: We went up to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open house. It is always a good experience going to the temple. It was fun to have all the kids with us and get to explain a little about the temple. We also went to dinner with just the adults. Shalece was a few days away from tuning 18 but we let her join us while Shae watched all the little kiddos. I have to say that I love a good steak and I love that Texas Roadhouse is now close to me. Yummy!

Temple Open House
Thursday: We went and played at the lake. Wyatt and Michele brought out their boat and Melanie and Ryan brought their boat and wave runners. It was a really nice day and we had a blast playing with all the new toys. The highlight was probably the wake surfboard. Friday: We went to a Nascar race trial out at Miller Motor Sports. We were a little disappointed that they weren't actually racing each other. They were just racing the time or something. It was hot and so we didn't stay long. Instead we all played games at Grandma's and Grandpa's. Lately we can't have a family party without Ticket to Ride.
Saturday: We can't all get together without a family picture so...naturally we got family pictures taken. We also had a get together with a bunch of Bryce's friends and our neighbors growing up. All in all it was a good end to a good week. Can't wait till next time!

Where has the summer gone?

I realize that I have totally been a blog slacker. This summer has totally flown by. It might be the fact that there were more stormy days so it feels like summer only came for a few weeks and you better believe that if it was nice and warm we wanted to be out playing.

We'll start at the beginning...My oldest niece Shalece graduated from High School. It seems crazy that she is old enough to go off to college. I made her a candy bar bouquet for graduation, which took me longer than anticipated. Lucky for me she is not going too far away so I will still get to see her around. We love you Lece!

My husband loves me and took me to the Paramore concert...ok so it really was No Doubt with Paramore, but lets be honest I went for Paramore...although I do enjoy No doubt. Anyway it was so much FUN. I loved every minute of it. Thanks Honey!

The last few years Mike and have been going to the parade of homes. We like to be wishful thinkers. It is fun to look at all the homes and start our wish list. Hopefully someday some of the things will be a reality...but until then we will just enjoy looking at other peoples amazing homes.

4th of July we went with Blake and Jami up to their condo up ogden canyon. We came up with this brilliant idea to have her dad bring up the boat so we could watch fire works on the lake. He agreed so we played on the lake until dark. My knee boarding skills are improving. It was so fun to watch the fireworks on a boat.

Mike and I were in charge of Youth Conference for our Ward. I hope the kids had fun, because I did. We went down to Snow College. Did some water games, a fireside, and a rope course. At the rope course we did the faith fall. That was crazy. I am a pretty daring person..but I have to say that freaked me out a little bit. Needless to say I still did it. The other events at the rope course were not as scary but I have decided I need longer arms.
That cover up until mid July. I will have to do a new post for the rest of July...otherwise this will be a novel! Stay Tuned...
