Happy Fall!

I realize that is is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but I love the fall, it is my favorite time of the year.  I love the colors, sweaters, crisp air, football, and that my little Keyli bug is a fall baby! Beware there may be a picture overload in this post...
We decided one Sunday afternoon to take a drive through the canyon and see all the beautiful leaves.  The alpine loop was absolutely beautiful.  Then we stopped at sundance and let Keyli run around for a while.  The leaves weren't as pretty at the lower elevation but we had a great time!

Keyli loves her freedom and running around.  She thought it was great to wave to all the people walking by, or yell at them if they were children.

Love this pic!

We found some kind people to take a picture of all of us.  She didn't know what to think of the strangers trying to get her to smile. At least she is looking forward!

The week before Keyli's birthday we headed down south for some sunshine and to see The Little Mermaid at Tuachan.  We didn't get either of those things, it rained the whole time we were there...so much that the show got rained out!!!  We were not going to let that dampen our vacation so we went hiking in the rain and had a great time.  We also had a great time visiting grandma and grandpa Hinckley.

Love this little girl!!!  She is such a fun little peanut!

Of coarse Mike had to check the temperature of the water and climb around in it.

Mike took some time off work and we decided to go to the zoo. Keyli loved all the animals. The little monkeys were her favorite.

Look at that face!  I am sure that she is thrilled about this picture.  She is the same size as the little monkey...
The funnest part was the gopher holes! She thought it was so funny to pop her head out and see mom!!

The best part of the fall is Halloween and all the festivities!  I love it!  I love dressing up and seeing all the cute kids all dressed up,  I love the candy, i love getting all the goo out of the pumpkins, I love soups, and most of all I love my moms home made cinnamon rolls!!!

Picking out a pumpkin at cornbellys.  How can you not love that face???

 Loving all the slides.
The bouncy thing.  Keyli wasn't so sure about it.
Didn't want to get out of the little house, she loved it!  I think she needs one of her own.

We carved our pumpkins the weekend before Halloween. Keyli thought it was great fun, and super yummy. She kept eating all the innards and hiding the seeds by her toys. She kept bringing them too me for weeks...silly girl.

 Doesn't that just look yummy???

 Helping Daddy!
We thought Keyli shouldn't have a knife so she made her pumpkin a mummy...by the looks she was giving us she was not a fan...and she kept pulling the wrap off.

 The finished Product!

Mikes work does an office trick or treat, so we all went to join in the fun!  Once Keyli figured out that they were giving her candy she thought it was great, she also thought she needed a treat for each hand.  Lucky for her they all thought so too!  Yabba, Dabba, Doo!

 Trick or Treating

My little helper handing out candy.  After going trick or treating to a few houses Keyli would not go inside.  So we camped out on the porch and handed out candy to the kids.  She loved seeing all the kids and would get so excited they were coming.  As the bowl got emptier it was a little easier for her to pick it up.  Eventually we made it inside.

Trying to get a picture of our little Pebbles turned out to be very tricky.  She would not look at me for anything.  She is a smart girl she knew she had a bag full of yummy things.

Happy, Happy Birthday!!!

My little sweet girl turned one on October 8.   I can't believe it has been a whole year since she joined our family.  She is such a little miracle!  We adore her and love the little personality that is coming out.  We had a little party with family and friends to celebrate Keyli!

 OUR BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!

I made her shirt and bow, and added some extras to her little skirt.  We also decorated the house with balloons and pictures of Keyli's first year.  Everything was pink and green and I think it turned out pretty good.
 THE SPREAD

I spent the day before and morning of making cakes and decorating.  I decided to make cake pops for the kids and make a 3 tiered cake for Keyli.  It was definitely a project.  I had a little trouble getting the cake pops to stay on the sticks after dipping in chocolate and had to make them all smaller.  The cake was an adventure as well.  I had never used fondant but wanted to give it a try.  I also didn't have cake pans in the sizes I wanted so I improvised.  30 minutes before her party I thought the cake needed something where the layers came together because it didn't look so good so I went to the store and the green gumballs was all I could find.  I think it turned out pretty good for a first timer.  Next time should be much easier.
THE CAKE

We had a little dinner and then the party started. Keyli was so cute opening her presents. She just wanted to play with whatever she got and wasn't too interested in opening the next one, until she realized it was something fun as well.

My sister Melanie didn't think Keyli would find getting clothes to be very fun, so she put in a few suckers.  Keyli thought it was great!  She kept a sucker in her mouth the whole rest of the time!

I tried showing Keyli how to use the xylophone.  She tried using the stick and couldn't hold it quite right...so the smart girl she is, she took out her sucker and started banging.

When we were looking at ideas of what we wanted to get Keyli the store had this little cart set up and out.  She pushed it all over.  My mom had already picked it up and since I knew Keyli loved it I saved it for last.  As soon as I took it out of the bag she said Ooooo...And good all excited.  She pushed it around for quite a while after she opened it!

We then set out to blow out the candles.  I should have double checked but I only had 2 matches left...both of which didn't work.  Lucky for us my sister keeps a lighter in her car for emergencies.  Keyli wasn't too sure of what she was supposed to do.

While we were all singing she thought she would eat the gum balls.

Is this whole thing for me?
 Hmm...how should I eat this?
This works! Why wouldn't she try to eat the whole thing at once!

She was so dainty with her cake it was funny.  She wouldn't completely dig in.  She would just take little pieces off and eat them.  After a while she started sharing with dad.

All done, get me out!

We had a great time and are glad our family and friends came out to celebrate such a special girl.

Keyli's One Year Old stats:
Weight: 19lbs 9oz
Length: 28.75
Words: Da da, Momma, whas at (whats that), na na (banana), ba ba (bottle), wow,  and hi.

Keyli loves to run around all over the house and get into whatever she can find.  She loves reading her books and can look at them for hours.  She loves to be outside and frequently goes to the door and waves bye, bye.  She loves carrying her baby dolls.  She loves all other kids and gets so excited to see them she yells until they pay attention to her.  She definitely knows what she wants and lets us know when we are not doing what she wants.  She loves to eat anything we give her.  She loves singing along to songs and to lead the music at church.  She likes to put on my chap stick and try to put her bows in her hair.  She is so much fun and we are so blessed to have her in our home!
