Twilight Movie Review

Ok...so for my birthday Mike and I went and watched Twilight. It wasn't the book but I liked it. I don't want to give away any spoilers so this may be short and sweet. Mike thinks that he liked it better than I did. I don't know about that. Kristen Stewart is the perfect Bella. She did an awsome job. I still have my reservations on Robert Pattinson, I didn't love him for Edward...which very well could be the reason why I didn't love the movie. The Humans were all great. I loved all of her high school friends and think they completely met my expectations. As far as the vampires go...I loved the nomads...and I loved the changes they made to that part of the story. I wish we saw a little more of the cullens and that they spoke more. I wanted more Alice and Emmett because I love them! Jasper was a little awkward but I understand what they were going for so it was fine. Rosalie did a good job, but she wasn't my Rosalie. I did think there were a few wierd transition/flow areas in the movie. I wouldn't exactly say that is was slow moving...but it didn't keep me captivated and on the edge of my seat either. I understand that to make the movie more exciting they were going to have to change some scenes. There were a few scenes that they changed that I wish they would have suck more closely to the book. Not necessarily exactly like the book...but closer than they did. Mike wants me to add that the acting of Bella was better than expecting and the scenery masde him want to live there. The rain turned me off but...thats ok we just bought a house and don't plan moving anytime soon so I shouldn't be too worried.

Our House

Ok...so before I tell you about our new house, I have a question. I signed up on blogger a while ago..and since then you can see when people last updated their blog under their link. I was just wondering how I go about adding that to my blog???

As I said in my last post, Mike and I are in the process of buying a house. I am so excited! It is in Lehi so we aren't moving too far. It has 5 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. It is fully landscaped and finished which is a good thing. We will definately have plenty of space for the two of us and a few little ones.

Here are some pics.

Once we get all moved in I will post what we have done with the place.

My parents got home the end of October, Twilight movie comes out in a couple weeks, and I am getting a house...if only the baby thing would happen. Stay tuned!

Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.5. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.6. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

1- For some weird reason random things keep happening at work. It all started when I delivered a baby in the hallway! Typically we don't get many deliveries on our floor, most people go to labor and delivery for that, however when the paramedics get off the wrong elevator and the baby is coming...Well then we deliver I guess. The funniest part was that nobody else on the floor even knew what was happening. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time I guess.

2- I am a little bit obsessed with the twilight saga. Just ask Mike. I love going to all the twilight websites and staying up on all the twilight events. I even went to the midnight party of Breaking Dawn and got a free book because I won the trivia questions! I have only read through the books twice though despite my addiction to them...and I only own breaking dawn.

3- My favorite restaurant in Los Hermanos. They have some of the best specialty drinks ever. I can't help my self whenever I go there I have to buy one.

4- I skipped most of Jr. High and only went part time to high school.

5- I have two associate degrees but no bachelor. You would think they could have put them together!

6- I collect coke bottles from other countries, however I have never been anywhere to get any of them. Luckily my brothers are awesome and always bring me them from their travels. Why coke bottles I don't know, I don't even drink coke! hey are way cool though.

I tag Lexi, Brooke, Christy, Karlee, Kristen & Eric, & Adam.

COMING SOON: Breaking dawn thoughts, Lake Powell trip

Saturday's Warrior

So for all of you who didn't know...it is the 35th anniversary of the wonderful musical Saturday's Warrior. I didn't even know it was around that long. Apparently it has. Anyway they are doing a tour of the musical(in a nutshell) plus the sequel to it. Mike and I got tickets and went a week or so ago. Can I just say lots of Memories. I really thought I should have been Emily in the movie. It must have made an impression on me because I remember playing Saturday's warrior in the backyard and I think I had the whole script memorized, not just the songs. I'm sure my family loved that. If you want to know if it is coming near you go to http://www.ldsmusical.com/. I have to say I still love all the songs, and they do all have such a good meaning behind them. The sequel is what happens after Jimmy gets married. It's full of new songs and in interesting story. Still good but of course like most sequels the original is better!

Twilight

Ok...so for all you other highly addidcted twilight fans here is a blog I came about that has the first chapter and preface for "Breaking Dawn." I can't wait for August to come so I can read the whole thing.

Sorry we haven't blogged in a while, but we don't have much to blog about. We have been spending most of our time looking at houses and driving around. So far we are still in the preliminary aspects of finding a home so we will keep you posted.

Tulips

A couple weeks ago for family night, Mike and I went to the tulip festival at thanksgiving point. I have to say that I was a little disappointed. I usually love the gardens. I think that I was expecting way more tulips than there were. Mostly because they had not bloomed yet. I am sure that if you went now it would be beautiful. We walked around for a while and took pictures of every tulip we saw.

We wondered over the the childrens garden and it is definitely not as exciting as it used to be. There is no water in the noahs ark, the train set is gone, the water is all murky and you can't see through the glass, the only thing that was good was that the bushes of the maze have grown. Maybe it was just too early in the season. My suggestion would be to wait until all the flowers are in bloom!

Welcome Home & Happy Birthday

So, obviously I haven't put anything new on my blog for a while. I usually have good intentions, and then don't get around to it...so...here is some of my intentions that are a little late.

First I want to wish HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my brother Troy! So Happy Birthday Troy. About three weeks ago Troy returned home after a year in Iraq with the national guard. We knew he would be coming home soon, but we didn't know for sure when it would be until a couple of days before. He was scheduled to come in at 3:45 at airport #2. Shalece and Britnee came over and put up some yellow ribbons and Ruth, our neighbor, helped us locate some flags to put in the yard. We had to pick up Mike from work on the way to the airport. We were 15 minutes early and when we arrived, they told us we better hurry because the 2nd plane just landed. So we started running. By the time we got to where the plane was, they were already getting off. It took us a few minutes to locate Troy. Luckily Michele and her kids had gotten there early enough so someone was there when he got off the plane.

All of the sisters were able to make it to the airport. It was a fun to look around and see all the soldiers reunions. It was very patriotic. They had American flags up where the soldiers walked, a band playing music, and soldiers everywhere. It was a neat experience. I am so grateful to all of our soldiers and their sacrifice so each of us can live how we do. I am proud to have two brothers who willingly serve their country. We love you Troy and appreciate your service. Happy Birthday!!!

Spring is in the air...I think

So last weekend we got a little taste of spring. I have to say I was really worried Friday morning when I left work and it was snowing. I had to scrape my windshield to make it home. But by the time I woke up it was nice and sunshiny! I don't think it got up to the 60 degree weather we were supposed to get but it was good enough. In fact I pulled out my capris and flip flops because it was so nice. I love it.

Friday night Mike and I went to my nieces high school lacrosse game. I have never watched lacrosse but it was pretty exciting. They did a really good job. It was a close game and unfortunately they lost by 1 point but it was still fun. The other team had a few really aggressive girls that were so frustrating.

Saturday we went to the Blue and White game in Provo. We go every year and every year we say...we should bring some kids with us so we don't look so silly playing on the field with all the little families. Mike still thinks he is going to be BYU's quarterback someday. I think he is coming to the realization that it is only going to happen on his football game. Needless to say he always loves going to the spring game because he gets to play on the field! This year wasn't quite as eventful as last year. Last year I completely leveled a little kid trying to catch a high ball from Mike in the end zone. I didn't realize the kid was behind me as I jumped in the air. A little embarrassing. Mike did make a field goal as he always tries. The game actual blue and white game wasn't as exciting as years past. They didn't keep score and it was really short. I still like going to the stadium and getting in the football spirit. It was also nice and warm so it was good to be outside. We saw David videoing the game for the Daily Herald while we were there.

With the sun peeking out Mike and I decided to it was time to pull our bikes out. Since then I have gone on two bike rides and I am feeling it in my buttocks! Hopefully this summer we will be able to ride them more and I can get into shape! I feel like I miss out on a lot of sunshine while I am sleeping. It's a toss up on what is more important but lately I have been leaning more on the sleep situation.

Unfortunately today it snowed again. Just when I thought spring had sprung it went back to hiding. Hopefully the sun will came back out and stay...soon.

Snow in Jerusalem

Last weekend Mike and I went to Jerusalem. Not the Jerusalem back east, but Jerusalem Utah. (If you didn't know it existed it's ok, I didn't either until we were there) It is a tiny little place with only like 5 houses and a turkey farm. If you blink while passing you would probably miss it. Our friends Mindy and Ben have a cabin there, that we went to play at. It was quite the little adventure getting there. First of all there was a terrible accident on the freeway and traffic was hardly moving. We were in the carpool lane and Mike being an honest driver didn't want to cross the double yellow lines when Ben got over. After a bit of time we realized we didn't know where they had gone. Luckily we had given them my cell phone before we left since theirs was dead. We ended up just driving to Nephi and meeting up there to follow the rest of the way. The rest of the drive was great. We got into Jerusalem and were driving on the dirt roads and all of the sudden their were snow drifts on the hill. Our little car just wasn't going to make it the rest of the way so we all piled into Ben's borrowed truck and started up the hill, mind you that was on the edge of the little mountain. We fish tailed a few times, Mike and Mindy were a little freaked out that we were going to fall off the edge, had to back up numerous times because we were stuck, but we made it to the cabin in one piece. It was not a nice warm abode waiting for us. There was tons of snow outside and the cabin was a nice and toasty 32 degrees...BRRRR. We had a good time and Mike and I went 4-wheeling for the first time. We had so much fin driving through the snow and mud. Mom I think we need a cabin for our family...and some toys! We decided to drive around central Utah for a bit and went to the Manti Temple. It is so pretty. I forget how neat of a temple it is until I go there. We walked around and would have taken some pictures if someone would have remembered to charge the battery before we left...my fault. I had never really walked around that temple before. Every time I have been there it was for the Manti pageant and the grounds are closed. We met up with another couple for dinner and luckily for me they had the same camera so I borrowed their battery for a bit on Sunday to get some proof we went 4-wheeling. Our week has been pretty uneventful since then. I did work last night and it was CRAZY!!! I didn't even get to sit down for longer than 2 seconds until 5:30 this morning. I was soooo ready to come home and go to bed today.

Tag Time

I got tagged by Lexi! Here are the rules: Use only pictures from a Google search. (don't cheat and use any of your own, or ones on your computer!)

I love PURPLE....For a while it was a bit of an obsession, but I think I am past that phase now. I would love to see a purple sunset...WOW!

Favorite Animal:I really like monkeys, They are so cute: )

Bad habit:
I sleep in way too much. Granted I do have an excuse...I work nights, but I sleep in everyday whether I worked or not.

Favorite food:
That depends on the day you ask me…I do have to say I am a Steak girl. I also LOVE marinated turkey tenders on the BBQ! Yum, Yum. Do you think I am ready for winter to be over so we can BBQ???
Favorite Hobby:I would have to say scrapbooking. Although I don’t do it near as much as I would like to.

Place I live:Lehi, Utah. This is our Main Street. Mike always laughs at me when I say I have to go down town. He doesn't think this is a "real" down town.

Favorite Song:I have a lot of songs I love…to choose just one…I wouldn't say that this is necessarily my favorite but lately I have had Evanescence in my head...I really Like "My Immortal" and "Bring me to life". In Contrast I do Love "A childs Prayer" from the primary song book!

My Job:
I am a nurse on the Mom/Baby Unit & NICU. So much fun!

I don't really have a favorite author...I don’t really read that much...so I would have to say Stephenie Meyer because that was the last book I read that I really liked.

Favorite Dessert:

Anything chocolate or cheesecake. Although, I have been craving carrot cookies. Janet, anytime you want to make them I would love to take some off your hands!

Picture of Me:
This is the only person I’ve ever been told I look like, but I am undecided if I agree or not.

Lucky

So I was looking through my pictures a while back and realized that I had not posted these yet. I promised Clarissa that I would put them on my Blog, so Clarissa it took me a while but here are the pictures from our murder mystery party. I already scrapbooked them, hope you enjoy.

Also, I Hope everyone had a good St. Patricks Day. I had high intentions of making green pancakes for dinner...but that didn't exactly happen. I did wear plenty of green though. I was looking through my scrapbook magazine this month and they suggested doing a page on bing LUCKY. Yesturday I saw that a few blogs had written about the lucky things in their life and thought I would put a few on mine.

1. I'm sure you may have guessed this from my last post but I am lucky to have such a sweet and wonderful husband. I really don't know what I would do somedays without him. I know that I can sometimes be emotional, bratty, or just plain stubborn but he takes it all and treats me like a princess. I am a lucky girl

2. I am lucky to have such a wonderful family. I love them all so much for all that they do for me. I look forward to all the times we spend together and love seeing all the kids. They are so much fun. I cherish all the memories we have when we are together and count them as blessings. I am a lucky girl.

3. I am lucky to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and am so greatful to all the blessings in my life because of it. I am very greatful to my Savior for the atonement and for the loving example he is in my life. What a wonderful blessing it is to know that I am not alone in anything and that I can be forgiven for my short comings. I am a Lucky girl.

Slacker...

I have been a total blog slacker lately. I decided to spice things up and give my blog a new look, hoping that it would help. So I thought I would tell you why I have been such a slacker. I don't have any good excuse but here it goes.

1. We have dial up internet. According to some of my siblings we still live in the stone age, which may be true. Having dial up makes it very difficult to add anything to your blog...it takes FOREVER. So usually instead of updating my own blog, I spend my time looking at everyone elses.

2. So this next one was a while ago but it still demanded all my time. I got sucked into the TWILIGHT SERIES.

These books were so good, I couldn't put them down. I LOVED all of them, even the 2nd one. I highly recommend them to anyone. I was not going to read them but after countless people recommended them and needing something to do on my long night shifts I gave in and read them. Well worth the time. I can't wait for the last book in the series Breaking Dawn to come out in August.
They are doing a movie of the first book that will come out in December. I am very excited for that as well. I do have to say that originally I wasn't that excited about the casting, but they have grown on me and I think it will be great.
Check out the author's website for all the good info.

3. So mid February my brother Bryce and his wife Brandi came into town to spend some time with us all. Four days after they left my brother Troy come back from Iraq for a few weeks. Unfortunatly we weren't all able to be here at the same time but it was great to see both of them.

4. American Idol started up agin. Unfortunatly it has been on most of the nights I work...so Mike has been recording them and I have been watching them in the day. I am excited about this season. I do have to say that my favorites are the Australian (I don't remember his name), David Archuleta (Not jsut because he is from Utah although that might be it a little) Carly the Irish girl, and Brooke.

So in a nutshell that is my lack of blogging recently. I will try to do better.

my true color

Take this test!

You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum — reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!
