Retrieval & Transfer

The last couple days have been very busy for us...driving up to the U almost every day. On Friday they did the egg retrieval. They sNumbered Listtarted an IV and set me up with fluids and meds to make me go to sleep. Once again my body doesn't know how to react normally. I was awake the whole time. I don't remember a lot of what was being said but apparently I made the doctor uncomfortable by watching him the whole time. The stick a needle through your uterus wall and into the ovaries and suck out the eggs. They were able to get 4 eggs out. Then we waited to hear from the embryologist on what they were doing.

Recovery
Sunday we found out that 2 of our eggs were mature and 2 were not. They fertilized the 2 mature ones and they both took...so we had 2 embryos growing.

They either do a 3 day transfer or a 5 day transfer depending on the situation. One doctor wanted to wait for a 5 day...but the doctor this morning wanted to do it today since there were only 2 embryos. So this morning at 8am I got the call to head up to the U for transfer. Both embryos were good quality and we decided to put them both in. There is a 60% chance of pregnancy so we are keeping our fingers crossed. Now we just get to wait it out.

Our 2 embryos
Once they put the embryos in I have to be on bed rest for 5 days. If anyone has any good ideas of things I could be doing that would great. Thanks for all the prayers and words of encouragement.

How exciting! K, are the embryos in yet? Pleas let me know if I can do anything. I would be MORE than happy to help with whatever! (Landon's aunt just had a successful implant from a donated egg. I am hoping and praying for the same success for you guys!)

You could do calendar pages for your siblings that don't seem to be getting them done. But make sure you take it easy. We love you!

Yippee! I hope everything continues to go well. You can visualize while you are on best rest ;)

Ross and I are so behind on movies that I would probably watch a bunch or a bunch of tv shows that people keep telling me I need to watch. But that doesn't seem to be very productive now does it?! lol. Hmmm. You can prepare my Sunday lesson for me or we can come and visit you and bring you some more goodies. I don't know if visitors are okay on bed rest though? Let us know. We would love to stop by for a minute :)

Michele, I would totally do the calendar pages if they would send me some pictures. Megan you are welcome to come and visit. I am just not supposed to get up too much. But that doesn't mean I can't chat.

Wow. I really appreciate your honesty and your willingness to share this whole process. I had no idea you guys were going through this, we will def. keep you in our prayers and pray that you get a little one soon. You would be the best little mommy! I will never forget you taking care of Rals in the nursery! Good luck Jodi. Oh--and I think playing solitaire is a good idea for when you're on bed rest:)
