Special Delivery

I know I am a little slow at posting but I have been busy enjoying my sweet baby. So for all those who have been patiently awaiting a post...here is the delivery story.

I started contracting about 4am while at work...well I should clarify that I always contract while at work...but at 4am they were different than normal and pretty consistant, about every 3-5 minutes. When I got off I tried to go to bed and get a little sleep but it didn't really work. We headed to the hospital about 1pm.

The contractions weren't terrible but I was very tired since I had been awake about 24 hours and figured I might as well get my epidural so I could sleep. When we got there I was between a 4+ and a 5, they admitted me, I got my epidural, and I tried to sleep. Apparently I was excited or something because my mind just kept thinking and I didn't get much sleep if any. Dr. O broke my water about 5 and then my contractions slowed way down. Very weird. They started pit around 7 and at 8 half my cervix was completely dilated and the other half was a 6+. I have never heard of that but whatevs. They had me lay on my side to dilate the side that was being stubborn. I pushed for just over an hour with little progress when they realized that the baby was turned the wrong way...so they turned her head and 15 minutes later we had our little one.

She was a little bit pale so we snapped this photo quick and then they took her to the nursery.

They started a little IV and gave her some fluid and then brought her back. Other than that everything was great.
